hard white stuff on live rock

    hi guys

    I have my tank going about 7 weeks now but i still have this white hard stuff on my live roc, its breaking down really slowly (prob another 7 weeks at this rate) Is there anyone who knows what this is ?

    Hey! Chap! It looks like a calcium-based mineral build-up... In other words non-organic stuff!

    any idea how to get rid of it or do i just have to wait ?

    I would leave it , unless you are having funky/unexpected algae blooms! Moreover it may be dead coraline algae stain!

    I seem to be getting green algae(i think, still learnin) growing on it. When it eventualy breaks down there is coraline underneth it. Does that mean it's dead coraline algae stain?
