hard worm thing on live rock??

    there is what looks like a dead hard worm shell shape and goes round in a little spiral on my live rock and theres a hole in the end of it and there are some small fine red sprouts coming out of it.

    some times they go back in.
    what could it be?

    Yep. Micro feather dusters. Just harmless little filter feeders and nothing to worry about. Soon you'll start to see them on your glass too.:)
