Hey. I have a fish only tank and was wondering if there are any species of crab (hermit maybe?) or snail that I could keep? Do I wait for the algae bloom if I can have any?

Any help or links, would be great. Thanks

What kind of fish are you keeping? Most types of CUC are relatively hardy but they will become food if you have larger predator fish.

At the moment only 2 ocellaris clowns but final stocking will include 1 royal gramma, 1 flame hawkfish and 1 dwarf angel.

I think the hawkfish is the only one that poses a threat to inverts but I think its only small shrimp.

they look like blue leg hermits, they would do just fine.as long as theyr small they should be able to find their own food.do have emtpy shells for them to move into as they grow or they will die

    Thanks for the reply

Is there a certain type and size shell that I should use? I take it I just scatter them around and let them find them?

Don't think I would order from that guy. He has only 26 reviews, and doesn't even know the name of the hermits he is selling. But other than that yes hermits would do fine in an FO tank.

Just throw a bunch of extra shells of varying sizes into the tank.

I have scarlet hermit crabs, and they have lasted a long time. As well as my astrea snails.
