So, during the day, I have these yellow green striped "tentacles" coming from the sand engulfing my zoanthids. They just didn't seem happy about it, and aftermuch deliberation, I decided tonight I had enough. Armed with a tactical flashlight, a laser, shovel, lime and tape, I decided to go after these guys.

I removed the zoanthid colony and freshwater dipped him as I tearfully whispered "sorry".

Off came first, a bristle worm, which is neither here nor there, but ultimately decided to discard with the harvest. Upon closer examination, it was shown that the bristle worm was quite an eater, as his intestinal lumen was filled with waste.

As I was looking over the zoanthid, I determined that the worms were not on the actual colony itself. Quickly realizing, that "oh yea, the substrate! Eureka! "

Tossed the zaonathid colony back in, looked over to where I thought the polychaetes to be, and pulled up 3 spaghetti worms.

    Well here's the daily catch!

    No.

Spaghetti worms are only considered coral irritants, in that they only irritate corals with their feeding tentacles as they are trying to search for food.

For what purpose may I ask? As a member of the CUC?

How interesting. It is quite a delight to hear of these "evolutions" in the hobby.
