Has anybody here built there own website?
There are so many options to build your own online. I don't know what site to use. I also am wondering if I should just pay the 2K that i was quoted to have somebody else build it.

    What do you think?

i've built many websites. The price depends on the complexity of the website. If the website is interactive and has a retail terminal for buying/selling, accepting credit cards/paypal, customer accounts etc. That will run around 2k or more.

But for just a basic website that provides information, i dont charge more than a few hundred dollars if that.

Let me know what kind of help you need. I'll hook you up.

We are not doing e commerce at first. We might sell online down the road.
I do want to have the ability to add/edit pics in a section of the website. I also would like a box with scrolling specials that is also editable. This would be my leaders where I will have super discounted items to get people to come to the store.

I took Web Design in highschool...all you'd get from me would be a site with frames and made on Dreamweaver or just in Windows Notepad :D I could photoshop some buttons to make it look nice, but it's still have frames

Your best bet would be to have someone else build it. That way you get it exactly how you want it, without the frustration of trying to design it yourself.
