I got three starfish from pieceofthereef.com (eBay). Good prices, swift shipping and careful packing. I ordered one blue linkia and two sandsifters. One of the sandsifters looked like mush. I could barely make out part of one arm. They immediately refunded my money for that item.

So they are a good company to go through if they happen to have something Tangster does not have or cannot get. I would go through him if possible. He is trustworthy and VERY helpful. I try to stick with giving business to the sponsors and my LFS. At least they have a track record. JMTCW.

Liveaquria was good, I also have used aquacon.com a few times, they sent some questionably sized fish but also credited it on my next order. They have really good packages on clean up crews, inverts and corals.

Now that I know Tangster sells them too, that's where I'll be placing my next order.

Wow, thanks all. I've seen the many sites, but just felt very shaky laying down the hard earned cash mail-ordering a living fish, but it sounds like a very successful/safe. ;D

Awesome.....I'm sure you're ready to get back. Glad things are going well.

I, for one, will buy fish from the Internet but only if I know and trust the shipper. Trust me, I'm one picky guy if I can't see the fish before hand. I also deal with wholesalers and not trans-shippers.

I won't order from the trans-shippers, I don't care what kind of guarantee they have. They are just playing a numbers game. It's cheaper for them to ship you another fish than to take care of them.

    Here's how transhipping works......

    1) Fish arrives from the ocean that has purposely been starved for a couple of days (so it doesn't put too much waste into the bag)

    2) Arrives at an airport (usually LAX) and after customs is done, is moved to a trans-shipper. (Most are located on 104th street which is actually within the airport still).

    3) They are NOT fed

    4) Depending on which trans-shipper, one of two things are going to happen now. They are either going to simply re-ox the bag (open it and put new Oxygen in the top), or they are going to do a full dump where the water is changed out as well as getting new Oxygen.

    5) Back on a plane with heat packs or cold packs towards where you live within a couple of hours.

    6) Delivered to ones home.

    7) If 30% of them die due to this horrible treatment, the exact same species of fish will re-arrive tomorrow. It's cheaper to send a new one to fulfill a guarantee than it is to take care of them properly.

    8) The trans-shipper has never once seen your fish. They can be in any city in America and do a drop ship order.

LOL Hey Buddy glad see you in here , To bad you missed the borate wars !here a few weeks ago . A few residient reading repeaters had it in there minds that Borate and my buffer was bad as it was not made by Kents or sea chem and woul harm corals and they would never use it in their tanks with 4 leathers :) or a green open brain . It just had to be bad as no experst had mentioned its use as being safe . I tried to tell them it was safe and worked better then what they where paying 1000% more for . camera ;)

Craig By the way if you have the time ? I know you are jammed up but you can go to our sponsors site and post a string of Photos for those wanting to get corals .
