Has anyone added purple strips to their lighting?

I have two Apollo Reef LED fixtures on my 65g tank. They are 15k models and put out a nice whitish blue light. I noticed some newer fixtures are not adding rose/purple LED's and I really like the look. I have done some research and see that here and there people are adding purple LED strips to their lights. The only reason I want to do this is for a color pop in the tank, but don't want to do it if it has a negative impact on corals. I know Red is not a good color for reefs but rose and purple is a color that exists at depth, so I just wanted to get some feedback. Anyone doing it, do you have some tank pic's I can look at?

 

I dont have a fully purple strip but I have a blue strip with every 3 being purple. I don't believe it has a negative impact on my corals...as far as I know. It really does give it a nice color.

I went even further. I went with a 403nm "Ultraviolet" Stunner Strip. Love it.....going to add some more.

hey Inwall75 can you take a pic of the tank. I would be interested in seeing what it looks like having added the violet strip.

 

I'll try to see if I can get some pics. On some corals, the effect is pronounced. On other corals, it seems to do nothing. On other corals, you don't see anything different until they are used as moonlights for about an hour after the lights go out.

 

Can you post a few pix of your violet 403nm Ecoxotic stunner led?

 

I will try to see if I can get a picture that shows the difference. I just turkey basted my rocks preceding a waterchange so I can't get pics yet.
