I have purchased a protein skimmer from my lfs i was wondering if anybody has heard of it or what they think. It's name is Aquarium Life Support System. Also if anyone knows about them can you help me out. I am having a hard time adjusting the bubbles so the foam is entering the collection cup I have nothing but water enter it so far. Kind of two question here.

    Thanks

I have never heard of this brand or manufacture before.. But if its a venturi skimmer then adjust the water level so as it is about a 1/8 inch below the column the collection cup set on and open the air inlet if it is controllable ? and let it run it may take several days to start to foam. Sounds to me you are pushing the water level to high in the reactor chamber and is just filling the cup with a wet foam.. Most have a water level line on the somewhere ..

O.K I called a friend and he looked them up in a catalog and if you have the in sump model he said its very similar to the old Excalibur skimmers and what you need to do is slip the water adjustment on the side until the water level is like i said above about a 1/8 th of a inch from the rim the collection cup sets on.. what model did you get ? the 44V Magnum or a 22V skimmer ? But it seems they all work like the old Excalibur's I like my Excalibur works better then anyone I ever used on a small system.. Now that being said The Old skimmer called the Big Mommosa sucked looked very muck like the Excalibur's also.. so just set the water level as i said above and set back and let it run for a week. Give it time to make foam and brake in as they all have oils and stuff from the molding and gluing them together.
