made a plywood version of their tank and drilled it just so that they can get everything right? or am i just pedantic?

id rather have everything in perspective and be able to see the size and where the holes will go before i spend all the money to get it made and find out that its not what i wanted.

    anyone else done this?

I've never done it. I don't know anyone who's ever done it. If I decided it would make me feel better to go that route, I'd go for it. Whether or not it's been done before would have no bearing on my decision either way.

If you have the time, resources, the inclination to do it; and a desire to see your plan fleshed out before actually comitting to it--go right ahead!
