Looks like a very interesting idea. If I was close I would buy it to see what the deal is.

    Honestly just go with this.
Liquid Level Sensors from Chicago Sensor, Inc.

Get the sensor in the middle. $7
    Get a extension cord $5
get an aqualifter by tom $10

Cut the extension cord and attatch it to your float valve.
Bam you've got an auto top off for $25.

There is no reason for it to fail the guy that had one fail had one of those electronic ones with different setting and etc. The float goes down it gives the pump current the pump fills the sump till the float is up closes the current and your set.

Edit: oh and I forgot a big orange home depot bucket for your ro top off water.

I have had this settup and it works great and is really easy. I have even left it w/o water quite a few times (caved in my home depot bucket) and it still works like a charm.

There's a write up on melvesreef i believe. Its really not to hard. And I would get the mold able holder they have. Its like $5 and you hold it in a pan of boiling water. hold it on the rim of your tank till it dries and there you got a float holder.

Its really nothing high tech but it keeps my salinity at the same point which is all I want in a ATO anyway.

I agree. I stumbled upon their website a while back and it seems way to sketchy to trust their product. Just think of the worst that could happen and that should be enough. Plenty of other reliable options available.

All it is is your rewiring the extension cord so that one of the wires (there are 2) runs from the outlet through the float then into the plug. You plug the pump into the the plug same way you would any extension cord. The only thing is that when the float goes down it lets the electricity flow to the plug thus turning on the pump. When the water reaches the correct level the float goes up and stops the electricity from flowing to the plug where the pump is plugged in thus turning off the pump.
