Has anyone seen one of their Emerald Crab molts?

    If you're not seeing anything go missing/getting damaged in the tank, then you could be ok, but it's best to have a look around and see what you can find, and if you find anything sump it and get an ID. Good luck! :)

    I have 2 crabs and they molt once a month and they look like a complete crab. My emeralds are really green and so are the molts. I have to poke them after they molt to make sure I grab the right one to get out :eek:p

    The only thing curious is I had two blastos... same place... one just up and melts away. No rhyme or reason. Then I saw another one of my Blastos yesterday sucked up like something was picking on it... but that could easily be a fish too. SPS look OK.

    Well I managed to fish out the claw from the remote place. It looks just like a Emerald claw. My LFS mentioned there are plenty of crabs in the Mithrax family. As long as the claw look like paddles for pinching, and not scissors or huge for cutting and crushing, then it is probably harmless. Made sense to me and has put me at ease a bit.
