Has anyone tried Prizm Deluxe Protein Skimmer?

How did it perform and how big of an opening does it require in the back of the tank to hang properly?

 

I do not remeber the room needed, but it is not the best skimmer. I modded my 12 gallon nano to hang one on the back and it worked good for that. Also found this on the internet "Slim line, hang on design only 2.4" deep ". What size tank are you putting it on?

I have not heard good things about the prizm. Only complaints.

 

I used one on a 35G hex tank for about 2 years and it seemed to work well IMO. I guess it depends on the size of your tank but I now run a aqua C remora on my 65 and it definitely pulls more crap than the prizm.

 

I have never owned one but seen a lot of other people who have had them. NOBODY I have ever met has been happy with one. Yes they will pull some skimmate, but it's like green tea, not dark. I have not been impressed.

 

I had that one on a 30 gal nano... I to was not impressed.. I called it my part timer skimmer... Some days it would kick butt the next i was doin nothing....
