I purchased this frozen food packet from petco along w/some frozen mysis...

This "Gel" frozen food DOES NOT THAW PROPERLY... I've tried cutting it into small pieces and then thawing it and stiring it as much as I can but it reamins in small chunks and ends up straight on the substrate!

Anyone else had this problem or is something just wrong w/mine?

I have had the same problem. Ocean Nutrition also make the same stuff without the Gel binder in it. I use their Prime Reef without the gel binder.

I always dilute it with clean water then drain it before i put it in the tank.

I agree with mtips. I won't buy it again, but when i tried it, I rinsed it thru a feeding net. It's not very user friendly.

I can't stand that stuff. It thaws so that the pieces are super huge chunks or extremely minuscule. Plus my fish hate it.

I dunno if they will or wont... I had that stuff for a while my fish hated it that I bought it for... slowly got rid of it by just throwing it in the tank and letting my tangs devour it as it defrosts lol. F1 And F2 are the only frozen foods ive had issues with... Btw if you ever get ahold of ON's Cyclops in the frozen cubes ... Its like a miracle. I could feed that to my fish all day long they get so excited for it. Everyone from the Neon Gobies up to the 9" foxface I have.

Had the same problem with they're angel formula.I've found Hikari brand frozen foods to be very easy to use and seem to be cleaner and of good quality.

I didn't think it was bad. I bought the angel fish formula and my fish loved it. The only drawback is that you have to cut it into small pieces.
