I was just wondering has anyone tried attaching one of those surface skimmers, that are made for canister filters or powerheads to a protien skimmer? I have a SeaClone 150 ( I know it is not the greatest skimmer) and I was thinking about trying it to see what would happen.

from what i understand, most of the protiens are in the top cpl inches of water.the surface skimmer will just make it so you take more water from the surface area where the protiens the worst.it sounds like a good idea.

Had one of those set up - it worked great for me. The thing I liked about it was that it would automatically adjust to the water height in the tank.
