Basically just want some feedback on the hydor flo or other wavemakers, specifically the inexpensive ones. lolz. My goal, among many others, is to make my tank as natural as possible so i guess a wavemaker would help. BTW its for a 12 gal nano, would it be overkill to get a wavemaker. I was lookin at these JBJ Ocean Pulse - DUO Wavemaker (2 pump Capacity) (Saltwater Aquarium Supplies > Wavemakers > External )

Hydor FLO Rotating Water Deflector (Saltwater Aquarium Supplies > Wavemakers > Internal )

or Aquarium Systems Natural Wave Wavemaker

    thnx again

I have a Hydor Flo deflector - does a decent job. Have to watch out for small snails though since they can get caught in the back end & stop it from rotating.

We had one. It worked great for a few months then went kaput and seized up. No matter how we tried to clean/fix it, we could never get it to spin again.

Get the red sea wave maker its the best one around and you have to use maxi jets with any of them for long term life of the pumps.

I use a hydor flo in my BC29 and it works great. Once every two weeks I soak it in Vinegar to remove the buildup so it won't seize up.

i used the hydor flo for about 8 months only cleaned once. it never slowed down on me or jammed. the only bad thing about it is it restricts the flow on the power head quite a bit and in a bigger tank you need to use another power head to help out. but in a 12 gallon tank it should work really well.
