Does anyone have any experience with this LED fixture, or with this company in general?

    http://ct.en.alibaba.com/product/518..._lighting.html

A LFS has one of these on display over their sps frag tank. they first ran it at 100% and burnt one of their frags and have since turned it down to about 50%.
It seems to be working great, however they have only been using it for about 2 wks. They plan to offer them for sale at a very reasonable price with a 2 yr warranty. I was just wanting to see if anyone has a longer experience with it.

    Thanks

How big was this frag tank and how high above the tank was the light hung?

this company comes and goes. It rebrands itself and overtakes forums here and there. I'd stay with something that people actually use! IMO Their light spectrum seems more ready for sprouting seeds than corals!

    Bustopher,

I'm not sure of the actual size of the tank, it is a custom build, but it is somewhere around 8 feet long, 2 feet deep and 12 inches high with a water level at around 10 - 11 inches. I did however use a yard stick and measured from the light fixture to the substrate and it was 22 inches. The frag that was burned was on eggcrate resting on the bottom, the frag was about 2-3 inches tall and about 1 inch was burned. I am still learning most corals and couldn't tell you what specific species it was but it was an sps.

    Cosmo,

I didn't get this from any forum. As I said, I saw it in a LFS and asked them about it. they are experimenting with it also and couldn't give me any long term info on it either. They don't even offer them for sale yet. That is why I asked on here to see if anyone does have any longer term experience with it.

    Thanks for the help.

I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean by try harder. What more do you want to know? I used a yard stick because that was the only measuring device available I don't know why you would find that funny. What would you suggest that I use to measure. The tank is a tank custom built to specifically display corals. The coral in question was the tallest frag on that end of the tank, which is used to display sps coral frags only. Taller corals are displayed on the other end of the tank under a MH light that has been there for some time.

    Mr. Cosmo,

All of the information I have, I have already supplied. Maybe if you bothered to actually read the post, including the link I provided, rather than jump to immediate conclusions and ridicule you would know that.

I am not trying to get into an arguement, I am merely asking if anyone has had experience with the light fixture. If you have experience with it, please let me know what you have learned. If you have none then this post and my original question doesn't apply to you, so please, kindly butt out.

    Thank You

I'd suggest you follow your own advice! I provided an answer that most will probably follow suit with! Across many forums i follow, this company comes and goes. They seem to prey on noobies wanting led's and sure the lights are bright, but they fail quick and grow more algae than corals. So the sell a decent amount of lights, then get trashed in the forums and you don't hear squat from them in for a bit. Then they pop back up. I tried saying that politely, sorry, should've just said it from the beginning. They're crap!

still stick by my saying that ya'll need to try harder. it's a real familiar rewording of a sales pitch that most forum posters don't use.
