You have definitely gone country..........for sure!!! But theres nothing wrong with that. That was a great build BTW. Did you stain/seal that particle board? One good shower will destroy that board. Great job farmer-mission.................Yeehawwwwwww

Haven't done anything yet. My next task is to finish the roofing. Then the siding. This project is starting to hit me in the wallet a bit. ;D But, well worth the money so far.
Yep, they do. They will follow me anywhere. Apparently their known "guard doggedness" is directed at protecting their parents mainly.
Haven't had a drink in 2 months this 27th. The weird thing is I didn't quit drinking.

Hey welcome to the country! What kind of hens did you buy? Are you planning on putting a fence around them or locking them up at night? Predators like fox, etc like tasty chicken! Good Luck!

They are going to have a fully enclosed yard. Top sides etc....... I just haven't gotten to it yet. It's still cold here and they can't be outside for a while anyways. My hen list is pretty diverse. I just told the lady that I'd take one of everything. I have a list of each and looked them up individually. My biggest worry is going to be hawks and neighbor animals. I'll have to load the .22 and the pellet rifle and keep them both on hand. I'm hoping that they will (all including the turkey) will be mostly free grazers. Are you the yardbird guru that I can bug with my questions? I've got karma.........

I dislike goats. A goat gave me a black eye when I was 13. Nailed me good.

Somehow that happened to me too. Not that I quit drinking either....just stopped buying beer. Been over a year with me. Oh....wait....I had a microbrew last August. I take that back. It's been about seven months.
If you have anything specific to ask about turkeys or chickens, my sister-in-law has raised her share. Just PM me and I will call her and ask.

I've been wanting chickens for a while, but since we're within city limits, we're not supposed to have them. Hubby says if we clear out a patch of "The back 40" we'll get some. Now, I gotta figure out how to make a Spaz proof chicken coop and they would never be allowed to run free in our back yard. Spaz'll eat em.

Look how innocent spaz looks..... Definitely the look of a chicken eater.

Drunken chicken is how you cook it. Don't have to drink to do it ;) Just put a half-empty can of beer up the back of the chicken then throw it on the grill. So delicious.
