your paying for nicer reflectors and seperate ballasts, not to mention that only 4x54 T5s wouldn't keep much in a 75 gallon

Even thou I bought my lighting fixture from Ebay, becareful. You have to ask yourself how can these ppl sell the same items for less? Some are legit and others get the refurbished, returned, discontinued or didnt pass the "inspection" the first time around. If you pay attention, the difference between them really isnt that much(in price), sometimes the same when you consider the shipping. In addition, when it comes to needing some tech. support or replacement parts, their nowhere to be found. Just food for thought. Luna

Another option is to buy the Nova extreme 8x54W T5. That one comes with lunar lights, but no individual reflectors.

it's a little more, but another option. On a 75gal tank, I would have more than four bulbs, unless you only want to keep very light forgiving corals.

Oh, and if the choice is only between those two lights, I would go with the 6 bulb one

I have a 75g and am in the market for a good set of T5 lighting. IMO, 4x is not enough. 6x or 8x will do you fine. The individual reflectors will make a difference. I would go with either the Nova Extreme Pro 6x54W or the Tek 8x54W. I am going Tek 8x54W when it is time to convince my wife. Now, if the lighting does not come with the lunar lights, don't worry about it. It can be done inexpensively on your own. That is what I am going to have to do with my future Teks. If you do go with Tek, look at Tangster's deals. He is a sponsor on the site. However, Nova Extreme Pro is a little less costly. Reeron just posted a place that was selling the 6x54W for about $325 including shipping. I will try to find it.

I agree with guitarman, but i think the 6 bulb Pro with the reflectors will have a more intense lighting than the 8 bulbs with out reflectors.

    Is that a true statement?

Actually, the 8 bulb Tek does have the individual reflectors, if that is what you are refering to. If you are just doing a direct comparison, I would agree with you.
