So any of the above would work? Some of them are only 8-10" wide, this would suffice for a 55 gallon? Just 1?

well they have good spread but i would still do 2, but i have seen people do just one thats like a large spotlight in the middle of the tank so they have sps in the middle, then lps, then softies, then mushrooms and zoas, then some nps on the outer edges looked pretty sweet.

You should DYI, If i was able to do it for my tank anyone can do it....
IF not check out the kessil pendents and try to google them and find the best price. 2 of those could possibly give ok coverage if you have a rimless tank..

Wow, all this is overwhelming. Now do these module lights (the ones that are 8-10" wide) they hang from the ceiling or will the clamp to tank? I guess it's optional? Now the LED bulbs that screw in like a regular light bulb, I could use several of them with a regular light stand with multiple outlets? That would work too huh?

yes it does get very confusing at some points, i believe some of them come with clamps, or they come with hanging brackets. also the screw in par38 bulbs will not light up your tank well you would probably need 4 or 5 of them and they will have sort of a spotlight effect.

which is why i still highly highly suggest simply using several panorama pro modules.
