    Don't panic; flashers hiding for the first few days after introduction isn't uncommon. So long as he feels comfortable he'll start coming out in time. However, if you have a fish which might be bullying him or spooking him back into hiding, this will lead to his demise.

    Thank you, he was swimming around at first with the two other fish and they didn't seem to care he was there. I just find it a little strange that the first night he was eating and swimming, the next morning, swimming and eating, then gone.

    I put a leopard wrasse in my tank and he did the same thing. He was out swimming and eating. I watched him dart under the sand after being in the tank for about 2 hours (it was pretty cool how he did that) and he didn't come out until the next day, late. He was under the sand for over 24 hours. When he came out, he seemed all disoriented for about an hour and went back under the sand. The next day, he came out and all was well. He now eats flake food BTW.
