Have you painted your background glass anything other than black?

Which part are you wanting a pic of? Where it enters the tank or exiting the sump?

I ended up not using the pump externally. I ended up with a leak, and it was almost impossible to work on when my refugium was installed.

I painted my 72G bowfront's rear glass black using Rustoleum high temp paint (all I had on hand). Still looks great. When I took it a local glass shop to have it drilled they were trying to charge me more because they thought it was tinted OEM. LOL....

Mine is painted blue with a brush using latex. If you want to remove it, latex is the best because it will peel off.. its sort of rubbery.
If you don't paint it, the blue never will show as if its inside the tank. It will always look like its behind the glass.
I actually was just looking at mine today and wondering if the blue is too much, and takes away from whats in the tank... I used to have it black years ago. Black is neutral so the colors of the rock and fish appear brighter IMO, but the blue looks striking from a distance. Its a tough call.

Blue and orange are complementary colors so my clowns look striking with the blue background ;D

I used Krylon Fusion spray dark blue. This was early before the stand was finished and the extra rock added. But you can see the bright colour.;)

I used krylon I believe, just regular spray paint. I taped off the sides and top and bottom, then used 4-5 coats to get good uniform coverage.

It is tricky to make sure the light bleeds through evenly. Probably doesn't make a huge difference, but I am OCD like that.

I'm doing the same, tying the pump in externally. The reason I ask is because it appears the bulkhead is facing the opposite direction.

I've had blue and black. I definitely prefer blue over the two.
