5 weeks to go till am back in Oahu, this time for 2 weeks (Yay!) and with a friend who's deaf. We hope to go diving, where we can still have a conversation ;D , and see the reef & fish there.

I'll be bringing fish back with me again, anyone in my area who wants a fish that I can get there for half the price as it is in the Sacramento area I'd be willing to bring a few extra back.

I'll also be doing way more than last trip thanks to weight loss and exercise/ increased fitness. I won my offices "Biggest Looser" contest.

Also if anyone needs tips on how to go for cheap I'd be happy to share my info, my first trip was 9 days and I only spent $840 on the whole trip and went to a luau, 2 sails, a water park, Iolani Palace, boogie boarding, and kyaking. This time it's a bit more due to being 2 weeks & renting a car.

Yes that included airfare, food, room, trasportation (bus system), and entertainment (there's pleanty of free/cheap entertainment there).

    I flew out of Oakland.
Part of the key is buying early & go just before or just after peak season but while the weather (and for HI the seas) are still good....my round trip flight was about $300

Yeah this time my projection is 1100-1200 each person but for 14 days and with a bit extra stuff to do... scuba (I found a place where you don't need a dive card, they teach you and are PADI certified), will swim with & get a ride from dolphins, rent a surfboard/ learn to surf, hike, snorkel, boogie board go to the water park, make leis, learn to play the ukulele lear to quilt Hawaiian style...and have a ton of fun.

Oh and the hotel is a 2 short blocks from the beach...$50/night and has a kitchen (so we can prepare most of our own meals and save money).

wow! what a lucky duck you are and obviously very good with finding a bargain. I've been to Hawaii once and it was everything that people imagine it to be, actually better! I'm envious, 14 days and all those fun activities. Wish I lived out west because I'd probably take you up on the fish offer :)
