    I wonder if the gov't would be holding out like this if their ship ran aground near the Great Barrier Reef. I'm on Hawaii's side on this one. They better steer clear of the North Shore!

    They should pay for it... If you run your boat aground in protected areas in florida you are fined.

    Appears from the article that the navy is willing to work with the state, seems they were just doing the steps needed before committing to money or repairs.
