I bought this hawkfish today, and was told it was a pixie hawkfish. However I think it looks more like a Falco Hawkfish. Any ideas? He is a really neat little guy though!

Don't the pixies have more of a geometric pattern to them? Hence the name Geometric pixie hawkfish? I am no expert by any means but I tend to agree with you - this guy has some darker markings on him. Perhaps someone will be able to respond with the correct answer!

In the meantime, what an AWESOME fish. I am partial to hawkfish!
You will enjoy the heck out of this guy - very personable and entertaining.
Better have a good name for him!

    enjoy!

    :)

I agree, Falco. I have a pixie and he has orange "freckles" on his face.

    Spotted Hawkfish

Mistaken as a Pixy sometimes but it is a different fish. I want a spotted hawkfish really bad. At the LFS there is one that sits up at the top and when he sees people walk up swoops down and spreads his fins like batman then stares at you til you leave.

    Edit: NVM Falco it is
