i have lost 2 frags of hawkins echinata and was wondering for those who owned or has one if there is a special handling to this type of sps.
i temp acclimate and dip every single frag i have together with the hawkins but from the batch only the hawkins perishes. i know hawkins does not produce the protective slime that other sps do. does that mean i don't have to dip them?
any suggestions from experienced reefers who manage to take care/successful of a hawkins is appreciated.

What are you dipping with? Coral RX will kill Hawkins, especially Coral RX Pro.

I dont dip echinatas. Unfortunately they are preferred carriers of AEFW.
I only buy echinatas from one person and one person only! Only very close friends who I know for sure are AEFW and RB free.
I can refer you to my friend if you are willing to pay shipping for a frag pack.

However, Hawkins is a turaki, not a true echinata. ;)

Revive? I'm not sure about that one, but I'm suspect based on the Coral RX knowledge.

I dipped a Hawkins in Coral RX and it pretty much melted the coral.
