HBO Refugium w/ HBO Protein Skimmer?

Before i went to my sump and had the disaster, i used a HBO Refugium from CPR, with good success. Now i want to get a new one and i notice they come with Portein Skimmer. This would be nice as i am trying to limit the items in my tanks, reason i am adding the wave 2k. but i love my HBO Remora. Would hanging the remora on the ref instead of the main tank, have the same performance?Plus i was not a fan of the CPR Bak Pak, and it looks like the same style.

I also want to put my heater in it

 

I've never used a HOB fuge, but I'd be worried about adding the weight of the Remora (filled with all that water) to it. Just seems like a lot of weight hanging off something that's already hanging off your tank.
That being said, i'm planning to convert a wet-dry to a sump/fuge and want to be able to hang my Remora on it.

I agree with pisces. I was cleaning my remora yesterday and when its full with water it's heavy, and probably too ackward. The flow from the remora would probably mess your fuge up too.

 

What kind of disaster did the sump cause you ? I'd trust a properly installed sump over a HOB anything myself. Only issues I have ever had with a sump was when I used a HOB overflow. to feed the sump. Just curious

 

The sump tank sprung a leak. Plus i had a HOB Overflow that was a pain.
