My family and I are headed to Key Largo, and maybe further down, for our vacation. I'm currently in Fort Lauderdale. Are there any places we should check out on the trip? And I was planning on taking some pictures when I go snorkeling, but I forgot my camera back in Orlando ::) Are there any cheap cameras that I should consider buying? Or would a waterproof disposable camera do the job?

Check out History of Diving Museum if it happens to be raining one day.. and check out Fort Jefferson go diving at the South Coaling Dock (really just rusting away pilings now) but an awesome starter location to dive.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to be certified to dive, so that's not possible :-/ I'll try to go to the museum, though.

Bring a mask and snorkel ranges from 4-7ft deep nothing crazy. The museum is pretty interesting.

A cool place to check out in the keys is Robbie's can't remember the exact key but they have a bunch of resident tarpon on the docks you can feed. They hang around like it is a big fish tank. Lol

I will definitely try to go :) Thanks for letting me know.

Yeah. I went through all of this trouble to pick up a waterproof camera from my friend and I left it at home *facepalm*. I guess a disposable will have to do.

That sounds like a fun thing to do. I'll look up the location :) Thanks for posting.

When I lived in Florida many years ago, my newly wed wife and I tood a Large Catamaran/Reef Snorkel trip out to the best reef at Key West- it was awhile ago, but I'm pretty sure they still have it. It was like 30 people, they give you all the snorkeling gear, etc. If you could, (I did), you could go down in some areas 40-50 ft!
Awesome Dive- I am and was a certified Diver. However, my wife was and is not, we had a wonderful time.

In fact, I had one of the disposable underwater cameras, and I can still find the pictures!

So we're currently staying near John Pennekamp Park. We went snorkeling on the shore and we're going with a group to a few reefs tomorrow. I'm not sure how far south we're going, but we'll probably stop around Marathon. I'll update with pictures as the trip progresses.
