Heads up for fan cooling

Just a heads up for those that are looking for a fan to clip on your tank for cooling now that summer is just about here.

has the vornado fan which is almost too much cooling on high but on the lower setting is perfect, it knocked my tank temp down by 3 degrees on the low setting and I am only running t5's. For those with halides this is perfect, I have been able to keep the temp in house up a little bit without it affecting my tank's temp.

I found a clip on for the same price at Staples, but it didn't blow very hard at all - so I went the next size up. The Vornado in the next size up is a rip-off at $60 at Home Depot.

 

It depends, I have a 150 and I use the low setting which is more than enough air to move the water and cover my lights which are 7 inches above the water line, I would think the fan on high setting could cool for a 500g plus, its move a lot of air. I have/had a couple of different cheapy clip ons and they are nothing in comparison to this. The low is perfect and very quiet as well.

I got my cooling fans from Radio Shack for $25( I think, dont remember). Its a 4" fan that has 70+ cfm's...........aw hell, heres the link
