    Hello, I visited my pet store a few days ago..I found this weird but attractive looking creature in the shop tank.I asked one of the workers and he said it is a sea cucumber.All I know is tht sea cucumber has a long body and shaped just like an cucumber.I didnt ask more because they are quite busy. I hope u guys can help me id this.i was looking foward to buy this.:)

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    It's called a Sea Apple, you will have to research the creature as there is a ton of debate on how safe they are in the home aquarium.

    If you have to ask, stay away.... Sorry, but as mentioned, there is debate about their safety, and the reality is, if they die, they can kill off all your fish and ammonia from dying fish could kill off your corals etc... They really should be an "expert only" invertebrate.

    I have a lfs near me that has one as well, it is a sea apple and is toxic to your tank if it dies not sure why you would want to risk it. Might make an interesting species only tank though

    It doesn't need to be a species only tank, just an invert only tank. They are only toxic to fish. However, if a fish dies, it can kill corals too, if not removed immediately, as it will pollute the tank. If you stick to inverts though, with no fish, the risk is much less, although, they can still kill inverts if they die, as again any decaying organism will result in ammonia which is toxic. But the risk is much smaller in an invert only tank, as you wouldn't quickly get a chain reaction of death...
