Hi there, tell me do PC, CF, T5, and MH all need fans for cooling or is it just the MH?

Are fans ever built into a "reef-ready" fixture or is it something you always have to jerry-rig yourself?

Lastly, for tanks against the wall, has anyone ever had damage to the wall from the heat of a light fixture, especially MH?

I'm planning a first reef tank, and I'm going to put it in a big built-in wall unit (to be designed and built to hold it), so I'm wondering about how to deal with the heat, especially if everything is behind closed doors (most of the time) except for the tank front and lights......

They all put out some heat. Mh the most, t5 the least. A good number of fixtures do come with fans as all bulbs function better when cool. I dont have much experience with heat against a wall but i dont think u will have much of a problem unless you chose mh. GL!

MH isn't going to do anything to your wall. Fans are in most fixtures.
