I have a brand new Via-aqua titanium 300 watt heater in my 30 gallon sump. How long does it take to get my system heated up to a safe temp?

That will depend on flow, ambient temp and starting temp of your water. It shouldnt be more than a day though. Just watch for your temp to go up then give it a little extra time to make sure the heater doesnt overshoot.

No worrys. Iv had a reef tank for a year now and still no nothing about most of it. Water chemistry is still a different language. Thats why were all here though. Nobody knows everything but between everyone on this forum were pretty close I think.
