I have an HOB filter, and will have an HOB skimmer for my 46 gal. bow. Where is the best place to put the heater? For this size tank is it okay to put it on one end or the other or should I try for the middle? I also have 2 power heads in there.

placed at one end is fine as long as you have adequate water movement, it wont be an issue IME

Totally agree, when I had my heater in the tank on my 55, I had it in one corner with no problems. You just don't want too much flow around it, but you also don't want to little flow.
