I have a 300 watt Finnex HMO-300. What should I set it to in my sump to achieve 76 degrees. My water is normally 73 without a heater. I dont want the sump to get to 76 and then it just shut off

Start at 76 to see how well it works in the DT. You may need to bump it up to 77 or 78.

Correct, warm out and cool in. House temperature will play a part also. The cooler it is the more likely you will need to turn the heater higher. Also heaters are not that well calibrated so watch the temp closely after setting the heater at 76.

Is the remote temperature sensor lead long enough to place in the DT?
