Im thinking the bucket with the bottom cut out no ice in it and a fan blowing strait through would help a lot. Maybe glue the tubing coiled around the sides. It would be a big heat sink.

I don't see how or what I said was turning into an angry mob. I'm just simply appalled at the fact that one hobbyist would tell another to quit just because of his/her financial status. It's discrimination.
I agree that it's supposed to be a fun and relaxing hobby but discouragement hasn't been known to make things fun and relaxing.

No angry mob, but maybe it could have been said with a bit more tact.

That said, I love the idea of a cold coil as freyre suggested. A small dorm fridge with a coil of tubing inside run pretty much the same way was what I was going to suggest. Couple that with fans blowing across the top of the water and you you will be in the clear.

some great suggestions on this thread, If I am repeating anyone apolgies for not quoting.

lighting MH - I live in the tropics and some days are very over cast and some days are intense sunshine

Id be tempted to raise the lights a little in order to create extra air circulation and make fans easier to locate - raising the MH by a couple of inches would not have a major effect on the corals IMO for a 2 week period as nature already has such variations , it would have a good effect on the water temp ( lots of heat from them babies)

its only a couple of weeks per year in Canada (like it was in UK ) so investing in a chiler would seem uneconomical IMO and the other ideas above added together should solve the issue

More what I was getting at, just came out swinging pretty hard and didn't want to see this devolve into more anger. :)

woa.... sorry guys.... didnt know i was going to get flamed and start a war i just wanted some help... thanks to everyone who offered some help.

The fan is what i was going to do.

I have very simple stuff in my tank... 2 yellow headed gobies, 3 chromis, and a bangi. my corals are gsp, some zoas, and a feather duster.

btw i live in Canada and figured since we usually only get 1 crazy heat wave a year i would be fine.
