Three months worth of product! I've seen a few complaints of coral loss already online, but I bet it will get much more wide spread now that their word is public. It will be interesting to see how Kent handles this.

Was anyone on here using it?

I don't use it. Heck, I didn't even sell it at Planet Reef nor Marine Solutions because it's pretty much worthless. I told our local suppliers (Loveland and BCI, respectively) to take it back and take it off our invoice. It's a vapor phase carbon and not liquid phase. As far as I'm concerned, it's only use in the hobby is for people who run ozone through a skimmer or reactor. You could put a bag of this on top of the vent holes to keep ozone from leaking into the room. The second you put it in water, it's completely ineffective.

This was the worst carbon on the market even more than a decade ago. http://www.fishchannel.com/images/aquarium-frontiers/gac-600.jpg

The article is a reprint from the old Aquarium Frontier's Days. Granular Activated Carbon in the Reef Aquarium

BTW, here's the sad thing. Jack Kent was told that this was Vapor Phase carbon and he knew it but he was in negotiations to sell the company to Central Aquatics and he didn't want to rock the boat.

I just narrowly dodged the bullet. Had it in my cart when I placed an order about 3 weeks ago, then at the last minute during checkout, decided to wait until I get more corals in my tank. In light of Curt's post, I'll most likely go with Black Diamond or Matrix when I do start using carbon.
