This is why I don't glue my drain and return inside my over flow. If something gets back there, I can remove the pipes and return the fish. Be persistent, you'll catch it.

I don't believe my pipes are glued - I'll have to ask our friend - AND went to get a picture of the overflow and found one of my sexy shrimps down in there along with the goby ARGHH!!

rolo - I can't get my arm all the way down in there - my arm is too short - I tried to net him and then had the siphon tube all the way at the bottom and he went and hid right behind the pipes you can see - I tried the siphon twice with no luck :(

Can you block your drains till it fills up all the way and let it sit with the pumps off and entice him to swim out with food. I have the same overflow and I purposely didn't glue the pipes for that reason. Wish you the best of luck. I have to lay on my tank to get my arm all the way down there. With the pipes in you have to be careful not to start a leak.

I would try putting the siphon hose in there where it rests on the bottom and wait to see if he goes in it at all and if you catch him sitting in there, start siphoning. I don't know if that would work but it is the best I have come up with so far.

This may work for you.Get some filter floss or even better big sponges and push them down behind the pipes. You may have to fill it all the way to the top if thats possible.Sorry its all I got.GL.:)

Mindy, Nets have handles- so you don't have to reach as far, they also are usually pliable wire so you can change the shape.
Get a smaller net, bend it till it's long ways, hold the handle and you should be able to get him out in no time.
I had to do this once for my Flame A. when it was in my older, DIY Intank Overflow- it was 21" high.

    You'll get it
