I've been looking into these some say its a leather with a skeleton and other sites say its an sps. So does it need really high lighting and calcium? Also I wish there was a better term for lighting than low medium and high. I have 4 ho t5s on my 55 gallon and I was told buy a coral salesmen once upon a time I could probably keep monti caps and just maybe birdsnest.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
What is the name of fixture? If it has a decent reflector and good quality bulbs I do not think you would have any problems growing Montipora or BN at all.

The blue ridge is considered an Octocoral, hence a soft coral.

With placement higher in the tank under T5HO the coral should do fine.

It does have a calcium skeleton and iron which makes the skeleton blue, so yes you need to maintain parameters as your would with any other corals.

I don't recall the name of the fixture and it has no logo that I can find presently. The reflectors look good not the flaking off plastic like my PCs were from back when.
