    You have to make the tank visually appealing to yourself also!!! So if you like the macroalgae in your tank that is great. It is different than the normal "reef" tank, but is a nice change to the macro in the refugium only approach!

    If your hair algae is thick and hard like a brillo pad its Brazelensis(not sure of spelling), and nothing eats it. I had some on a rock that I pulled off. Nice emarald crab.

    No, its the garden variety hair algae. Mostly straight filaments, thick, but they mutate into nice treelike and leaflike shapes in spots. Kind of like weeds in a lawn. I think it's getting weaker since I added my skimmer...maybe finally I'll control it's nutrients and defeat it! :)
