    Hey all,
I am new to marine tanks, here is my setup I have right now.
    65gal (36x18x24)
    50 pounds live rock
    4" DSP
    2 power heads
    350 penguin bio wheel filter.

I am making a HOB refuguim now to help with my cycling, which I think may be ready, which surprises me. I started my cycle March 25th, and my Ammonia, nitrites are back to 0 and my nitrates are 20. I did notice the other night that I have up to 3 brittle stars in my live rock. I came home from my friends house and turned on the aqurium light and saw the tenticles pull back into the rock. So I shut the light off and waited 10 min and grabbed a flashlight, the limbs look like a type of brittle star. So I am in the process of figuring out which fish I want first and what I need to feed the starfish.

anyways hey all and any advise is welcomed.

Welcome to 3reef! Best of luck with your tank! eep us updated on your tank inhabitants. And as far as feeding the starfish goes-there is food on and in the live rock for the starfish to add plus they eat detritus and when or if you keep corals and inverts and feed planktons, they will eat that. But for now and if they are the kind of brittle stars I think you have they are too small to start polluting your tank by trying to feed them..........Are they black and white striped and the legs the size of a piece of thread or light weight fishing line(very thin) because I have them as well. Kinda cool looking things compared to my huge Serpent and Brittle stars. Well have fun!

    Welcome

Welcome and good luck with your tank. I have only been at this for 5 months now and have found so much help here. Don't forget to check the new to the hobby forum and search the archives for specific topics. Even as a newbie, I know that the best advice is "be patient and go slow".

Welcome to 3 reef. Chances are the stars are mini hitchikers dont worry about feeding them specificaly they will eat anything and multiply fast.
