    Hello to all from Gibraltar,
I'd like to thank people in advanced for all the help I'm getting just by 'swimming' around these forums, the information is very useful. A little bio: I'm Ryan from Gibraltar, I've just began with my aquarium adventures, I currently own a 70litre tropical fish tank with a few discus, neons and a plec to clean up after them. Tomorrow my new 120 litre fish tank, furniture, filter and heater is arriving for the begging of my marine fish only tank, I'm really excited for it :cheesy: . Sorry for starting with the questions but what should I put inside my external canister filter for the tank? for my tropical I have a bag of eheim substrat pro in one compartment and in the other, eheim torf pellets. I'm not sure if it works the same with the marine fish tank, I was going to ask my local fish store but I don't want to get ripped off, not that they do but just to make sure.
    Happy to meet you all,
    Ryan ;D

    Welcome to 3reef Ryan. :)

When you say external filter do you mean canister?

Congrats on starting a saltwater setup.

Welcome to 3reef! What kind of canister filter is it? (brand). Depending on how many trays it has you can run a combination of media. I used to run (from bottom up) prefilter, ceramic rings, bio balls, activated carbon and GFO if I needed it, and then a polishing filter on top to keep the fine debris out of the tank.

hello, no corals, just live rock and fish. i Have two Eheim 350's installed & heater. I have put in eheim mech pro then above that one eheim mech then above that one the Eheim Karbon as my main set of media in the canister.
