    I have a false percula that is 16 years old. Still, 8 years is pretty old.

    Strange turn of events... Update...
    Wasn't able to hit the store i go to frequently, so I pump up the heater and shut off all lights, this morning, he was laying on the tank floor and as I approcahed the tank he got up, swam a little and I proceeded to drop some food into the tank to see if he had an appetite, and suprisingly, he came up 1/2 way and grabbed 4-5 pellets... he's still breathing heavily, and on the floor of the tank, but he's upright...
    Does any of this sound like symptoms of anything. My problem is in 8 yrs. this is the first issue I have had. Its difficult tryiong to figure out whats happening...

    I guess I have few options;
    1 - wait it out. Lights off, temp. controlled at a warmer setting.
    2 - consider applying a stess coat, the move was only across town, i pulled 3/4 of the water, but put back atleast 1/2 of the original water.
    3 - Try the Metronidazole w/ food and garlic gaurd in a qt.
    4 - FW dip - not so sure i want to do this yet.

    Any other suggestions,

    Thanks to all of you, its been very helpful to find this site!

    I agree it could be the mass amounts of stress from the move. We have a blue hippo tang we thought for sure was dead when we brought her home (it was quite the battle to get her out of the tank at the LFS.) She wouldnt eat, she just layed on the bottom of the tank being non responsive and all catatonic.. at times she even looked like she was going to go belly up. We were really worried. Then one day she just snapped out of it like nothing happened. It was very strange, but stress does weird things to fish. I hope the same for your clown, did you guys have to go far? Did you transport your fish in a dark box of sorts? The roughness of the trip could very much have to do with his issue.
