I have a 55 gallon aquarium I had it for about 6 month with it filtering and started to get algae about 2 month ago got 2 algea hermit crab very very small (even hard to find in tank) lol. lots of live rock then later bought 2 zebra turbo snail about 2 weeks later then bought a chocochip starfish . Everything seems to be going well the ate alot of the algae but I noticed the snail bodies not the shell seem to be turning green. why is the bodies turning green???? are they running out of food????

Maybe they just ate too much green stuff and are turning colour as a result???
    Or maybe they are maturing??

Sounds to me like you need a bunch more hermits and a few more snails.

    Also, one less starfish. ;)

    Good Luck.

Get a lot more snails. They don't move much, it's probably just algae forming on the shells. Take the chocolate chip back, he'll have a hard time finding much to eat. Trade him in for a dozen assorted reef safe snails (atreas, turbos, etc.)
