Hello from soggy and wet (no snow) SE Wisconsin.

I purchased a new 55 for my wife last Christmas as a upgrade from a Bio 29 that I tried to turn into a reef tank and failed. Current stock is 2 clowns and 1 blue damsel.

    Equiptment List:
    Aqueon 75 HOB filter
    CPR Bak-Pak2 skimmer
    40 lbs of live sand
    30 lbs of rock
    24" LED light

I have been reading alot of posts and I am going to tackle two projects for 2012:

    1. DIY Live rock
    2. DIY Coil Denitrator

Otherwise it is steady as she goes captain!!

Pictures coming tonight and hopefully a new fish or two. I gave a gift card to my wife to the LFS to purchase what she wanted.

What fish store do you go to? Aquatics Unlimited?

Yes, that is one I use on a regular basis. They seem to know what they are talking about but the prices could be a bit lower.

I have alot to say about Aquatics Unlimited, but this is a family forum. Haha. I would stay away from them if you could. Its a bit of a drive from West Allis, even longer for me in Muskego, but I go to The Feed Bag in Mequon. Its smaller than Aquatics. But the staff (Tom and Nicole) are really good at what they do. They have some awesome frags in almost all the time and their fish selection is very good and all are healthy. I bought a Maxx certified yellow tang from them about a month and a half ago for less than half the price of Aquatics. Aquatics' prices on equipment are ridiculous. The Feed Bag has some really nice deals on equipment usually. As far as knowledge goes, there two people that I only deal with at Aquatics. The rest had fed me garbage information in regards to salt water. Id much rather deal with the drive to talk to Tom or Nicole. Just my two cents though!

I was doing some research and found The Feed Bag and the LFS on 3rd St in Milwaukee. After this card is used up, where I get my advice and stuff from is wide open.

Coil denitrator? I may be wrong but dont you run the risk of a nitrogen build up?
