    Some pics of the build and the tank. Started off real simple and I found myself saying, hey I could add a 2x4 for extra support a couple of times. Better safe then sorry I guess...Jeff

    Here is the top view in Goggle Sketch Up. I changed the corner on the fly to make things easier and maybe stronger? Build cost was around $35.00.... Jeff

    Welcome to 3reef. I'd say to use RO or RO/DI water, I would recommend a sump or a sump with a fuge section instead of bio-balls I've heard they're a hassle. You should get sand instead of crushed coral, and I'd say go FOWLR, but if you're planning on turning into reef someday, don't get any non reef-safe fish they are hard to get rid of.

    The LFS guy has been telling me that the sand will clog the filter and bio-balls are fine for FO tanks? He did mention sump with a fuge would be better for reef tank. But the downside would be I could not treat my tank with copper which would make the fish more prone to diseases?
