    Welcome to 3reef!!!!

I was just like you when I got my first tank I wanted to fill my tank up with livestock and I cycled my tank for a week and added stuff the next week and corals and all.....but I had to do a lot of water changes and all, bc my fish were dying and my nitrates were to high.....

Now i just got a new tank ....and I with the experience that i had with my little tank I learned to give everything time and everything will be easier...your livestock are going to be healthier and your going to save a lot more money......so take your time!!!!! it will payoff!!! :)

Welcome, glad you found this forum, there is a lot of knowledgeable people here who will be able to guide and advise you in your new hobby.

    Sorry for your loss:cry:.

If I have learned one thing, it's patience:), I was advised to wait at least 4-6 weeks before adding anything. My cycle took well over 8 weeks for all my perameters to be correct. Trust me when I say patience is number one when it comes to this hobby.

Take it slow, and you will see it will be a real rewarding hobby8).

    welcome to 3 reef:goldfish:
I add one hardy fish after a month of cycle to test the water. add another fish the second month if the first one is still alive. thereafter slowly add livestocks to your tank capacity. I have been advised to keep one inch of fish for every 5 gallons of water for saltwater tank. so it's like one clown fish per 10 gallons of water.

i now guys i was little fast on that but i don't think that was reason why i lost my clowns.. don't you think any clown diseases(brooklynella) symptoms are pretty much same. anyway my last one is doing fine and he is eating but still he always like to stay in same cave and sometimes he comes out and swim in same area which makes me little nervous i hope he will fine otherwise i wont put any fish there couple of weeks if i lose this one.
astoria/NY thanks for all your concerns...
