Wow! buddy sweet looking setup you got!!! But it seems to me a little too clean for being 1yr old, and 110g tank should be plenty of big for the fish you are keeping! if that tank is really little over a year you need to let me know what you do to keep it sparkli'n clear like that, it looks awesome

Hey, thanks a lot! =D I made a correction on the tank's age-- I should edit the original info post.

It's actually two years old according to my dad, and our water has always been remarkably clear =D

The only time we realized that our water wasn't looking as clear was when we left the lights on all day and allowed green algae-type stuff to accumulate on the glass which made it look less attractive.

I guess our secret is that we don't leave the light on all day anymore, in addition to our normal care for the aquarium. We usually turn the lights on for 3-4hours per day, then take it off. To be honest, we only turn the lights on when we're downstairs and plan on being around the tank to enjoy it. Any other time, the lights are off ^_^

Man, you ppl sure are friendly =3

hey Andrew, i have to disagree with your photoperiod, you need to have a good 8 hours or so consistantly every day, you cant really "play god" and turn them on/off when its right for you, you have to think about the animals to, they need the sunlight to be healthy and happy...:) not trying to be mean at all, just trying to help.

I gotta ask.... your dad does the water/filter changes? Will he come do mine?

Aside from the compatibility issues, I'd be worried about over-loading. Too many fishies makes for a big mess and the fish WILL grow;)

    Yes, Thermometer! Digital, NOT glass.

Egg Crate for the top, you get in the lighting section at lowes or hd.

Yeah there needs to be an established photoperiod in your aquarium. Around 9-10 hours a day maybe more. Fish and corals need appropriate amount of light.

Andrew, always remember, that where there's a will there's a way. David Saxby seems to have found a way around some of the fish compatability challenges you face. Check out the video of his tank YouTube - Aquariums - David Saxby's Reef Aquarium (extended version) It's a looong clip but anyone who hasn't seen this should check it out:drool:.

Welcome ---I'm new also. I would recommend that you get 1 or 2 good books on saltwater tanks and read them. All the basic things you need to know will be in them--then our group can add to or clarify them for you.
