Hello everyone - I love the site, very cool looking. I have a 90 gallon with a 10 or so gallon sump & 20 gallon fuge. I JUST setup the fuge yesterday (taped it) and set it up so that water pumps INTO the fuge from my sump and overflows back into the sump.

My questions are - what should I put in it? I have read a lot of people doing deep sand beads and plants. This is where I get a little lost, what sort of plants would you all recommend putting in there? I will be picking up a light for it soon and am eager to put this thing to good use.

Again - nice talking to you all! I look forward to making friends!

Welcome to 3reef. Any type of micro algae will so. Fuge is meant to soak up excess nutrients in the tank.

reefcleaners.org has plenty of good information on macroalgae and whats good for what. id recommend a good layer of ocean mud, some oolite sand, and then chaeto and maybe gracilaria. (thats what im building at the moment not that i have a clue with what im doing either though lol)

oh and great to have you aboard 3reef!
