    Hello everyone!

Guess I'll just give a brief history of myself.

I've always been a hobbyist of fishkeeping. Ever since I was young my family has kept a freshwater aquarium. It was only last summer that I really ever took on the whole saltwater side. And, even then, it was through my brother and his 55 gallon. Best, I say, to learn through another's mistakes and at their expense, haha.

I now have a 10 gallon nano-reef and a 30 gallon saltwater tank (it's previous freshwater occupants had to make way for the change, haha).

The nano has been running for about 4 months now. It was a fast set-up and I managed to bi-pass the cycling and spikes in the water parameters by taking sand, water, and filter media from my brother's 55 gallon. It's an all reef tank with no fish, mostly because I haven't found a size appropriate fish that looks good in my opinion. Any suggestions?

I haven't done a whole heck of a lot with the 30 gallon yet. It's been running for 3 months. i've just been cycling it with the help of 2 blue damsels for now, (cheap fish but still look good). I plan to eventually upgrade the lighting and hopefully fit it with an anemone. Then, ideally I'll add a pair of black australian perculas or black saddlebacks. I've got a really gorgeous, vibrant cinnamon clown in the 20 gallon hospital tank at the moment waiting to make the 30 gallon his new home.

Thus far, everything has been great. The only loss of life has been a small red/white feather duster. It never did come out once I got it home from the store. I think it may have been damaged when the guy bagged it. Perhaps it was anchored to a rock under the sand. Also, I've got a small colony of blue bell tunicates in the nano reef. I just couldn't resist purchasing them. I've had them for a month now and they don't look to be doing so well. They've gotten a lot smaller and somewhat whithered looking. All water parameters are on target. I alternate feed my corals with 2 different types of live phytoplankton and also zooplankton. If anyone has a suggestion on how to perk them up it would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, this is becoming an article, haha. Anyway, thanks for reading and I look forward to more posts! :)

    Haha. Thanks everyone!

I don't think I'll ever miss freshwater. I can't even remember the last time I looked at the freshwater selection at the store. I've got my white half moon betta and I think that'll do. Oh, and some koi etc. in the pond out back.

Yesterday I rearranged everything in the nanoreef to accommodate a new addition - the blue sea fan. So, today everything should open nicely and I'll take a few snapshots to post.
