Hello everyone. I am a new guy with a few questions.
1st, I have a 75 gal tank. I have crushed coral as my base with about 65 lbs. of live rock.
I have a 20 gal wet dry filter and a skimmer. I have 8 small tester fish with 2 clown fish. I still have a Emperor 400 filter running.
Q.1. After buying cured rock, I rinced it in a bucket of salt warter .024 salinity for 5 days while filtering it. "I have had the tank up and running for 3 months. Now I see a lot of little creature in the crushed coral with 2 antenna. I only see them late at nite when I look in the tank with a flash light. What are they and are they bad?
Q2. Should I clean my Bio-balls when I do water changes.

    Hello and welcome to 3reef!
I moved your post to a new "say hello" thread because you had posted in another "say hello" posted by a fellow reefer, that's all!
Those creatures are very beneficial animals to your benthic area of the tank and will offer many benefits. You would be surprised by how much life is actually in your sand and rock that you are not aware of.
As for the bioballs, cleaning them periodically will help to reduce detritus accumulation, increase flow to the bacteria living on the bioballs and also reduce the chances of nitrates spiking!
Good luck to you and again welcome!
