    Hey everyone! Just to let everyone know that I not exactly new to the hobby but haven't actually started my own reef aquarium. I have had a lot of fresh and brackish aquariums in the past but have been researching saltwater/reef aquariums for a few years now but have been reluctant in starting my own. I am fascinated with the opportunity to own my own living ecosystem and cant wait to get started. As of today i have purchased a 55 gallon tank and stand. I have not purchased to canopy yet or any other equipment do to the fact that I want to plan out in detail so that my take is fail proof and will last. Anyway hope to hear from as many as members as possible for suggestions and different ways to improve my ideas.

    You got it dude. Welcome to 3reef. Are you going to do a sump/fuge? Is the tank drilled? This is a great place. So many opinions on the good.....but we are pretty well in tune with each other on the bad. As I have said many, many times, there is more than one way to remove the outer layer of a feline entity. Have fun!!! Karma for doing things correctly right out of the starting gate. ;D

    welcome to 3reef, ecosystem, make sure you have refugium as i dont consider it a ecosystem with out plants to absorb nutrients
